Riley’s Raw Thoughts: Running 10 miles at 5am with no training
Something on my mind & heart:
Last night at 9:30PM my friend Lucas and I were having a conversation.
We’ve been doing weekly check in’s to hold each other accountable, and last night we talked about wake up times. I told Lucas I would wake up at 4:30AM… his response was “Can you run 10 miles?”.
My response was “Why the f*** did you say that.”
|
|
I don’t normally run, so this experience was new for me.
My takeaway? Patience.
|
Running requires immense patience, and comes with varying degrees of difficulty.
One mile you are kicking ass at a great pace, the next you are dragging ass and reconsidering “Why did I wake up at 430AM to run 10 miles, what is wrong with me haha.”
It made me realize that the difference many times between failure, or triumph is simply a test of patience.
Can you truck along long enough to see yourself complete the challenge… or do you get easily distracted and let the voice inside cause you to throw in the towel?
What I am building & learning:
I am learning that what I need in my life is more deadlines, and not more time.
This week I am launching my community (finally)… and I am looking for my first 10 members! (already have 5 committed).
For those like me that had the odds stacked against them growing up, and have been left to figure it all out on your own…
Break The Cycle Tribe is a community where we help you Break The Cycle: of your family, society, and your own mind. The goal? Create a life of freedom and abundance without all the bullshit!
This Saturday we are doing a workshop on Vision – in other words, getting crystal clear on what you are working towards in your life and having the tools to manifest it into your reality.
It will be free for those that join the community, and to make it a stellar deal I am only going to charge the first 10 people $25/month to join.
Sunday’s we will be doing a weekly planning & preparation call to get dialed in for the week ahead, if you want to join the workshop & our Sunday call – jump on in!
How I recently won & failed:
Well, I won this morning by waking up at 430AM and running 10 miles.
Otherwise, I also just celebrated one year with my girlfriend Aubree. Huge win!

Otherwise…
I also just celebrated one year with my girlfriend Aubree. Huge win!
|
I recently failed by not controlling the controllable’s.
- I can’t control other people
- I can’t control the world
- I can’t control the outcome
But I can control
- Myself
- My Attitude
- My Actions
Focusing on the uncontrollable’s leads to constant suffering.
Focusing on the controllable’s leads to constant fulfillment.
I will choose accordingly moving forwards.
Story & Lesson: A new perspective on resentment
This week in a conversation with my therapist we were deep diving on some anger I’ve held onto.
Going to Colorado to celebrate a year with Aubree was amazing, and it’s also where my life fell apart two years ago.
Long story short, I’ve been frustrated because part of me felt dogged (betrayed / caught off guard) by how things went down with an ex.
But, I choose the higher road and have been working to let that Shit go.
Here’s the perspective I was given:
“We can not wish away our resentments, or wash them away with vices. We must look at those we resent in a new light to let it go. Perhaps those that wronged us were spiritually sick. We may have not liked their symptoms, and the way they disturbed us, but they like ourselves were sick too. Like a sick friend, we can ask for help from a higher power to help us show them the same tolerance, pity, and patience that we would give to our friend. How can we be helpful? What part of their sickness is partially ours to own? Have we never acted out because of our own version of sickness? What if it wasn’t ever about us in the first place, but just a reflection of them?”
I wouldn’t be cruel to a cancer patient, or take personal their inability to show up at 100%.
So, with that in mind – I am ready to let that Shit go.
Questions & Answers:I want to invest in Real Estate, where do I start?
Recently I had a friend named Sawyer reach out. He is wanting to prepare himself to invest in Real Estate and start building wealth!
I get it! Real Estate makes more people millionaires every single year than any other industry or asset class (type of investment).
He specifically wanted to buy rental properties, but today’s advice applies to anyone wanting to dip their toes in Real Estate.
1st: You need a plan
Before you can invest in Real Estate you need a game plan (outside of buying a primary residence to live in which isn’t really “investing” moreso just owning.)
- Start saving a percentage of your income specifically for investing (10-20%+).
- Earn more money. Doesn’t matter how, but it’s necessary to make more money to make more money.
- Begin investing in the most important thing (you) by learning about Real Estate, and the different options available to you.
2nd: You need connections
Find yourself a friend, or connection that knows the game and is willing to teach you or point you in the right direction.
Lucky you, pleasure to meet you.
3rd: You need courage
Most people don’t have the guts to pull the trigger, or stray off the common path.
Future you will thank you, if you do it.
In Case You Missed It:
In Saturdays Issue, I covered how one of my clients went from working at Little Caesars to being on track for doctor money.
You can read it here.
Calling all the free thinkers: Join the others like you
Humans need each other, we grow and thrive when we have a tribe.
Unfortunately men & women nowadays are suffering in silence…
To many people are being “lone wolves” in their lives.
The thing about the lone wolf?
It starves, and dies alone.
That doesn’t have to be you.
That’s why I am building Break The Cycle: the #1 tribe for “the ones” ready to break free from their past so they can build themselves a brighter future, and become their highest self against all odds.
Break the cycles in your life from your family, childhood, culture, and even your own mind.
You were born for this.
See you on the inside.
When you’re ready, here are 3 ways I can help you:
